YAKUBU DOGARAGE who represent a BOGORO/TAFWA BALEWA federal constituency in BAUCHI STATE was elected by the House of Representatives, as the Speaker of the 8th Assembly. Mr. Dogara won Femi Gbajabiamila, who represents Surulere federal constituency, Lagos state, Mr. Dogara scored 182 votes while Mr. Ggajabiamila scored 174. Mr. Dogara is becoming the speaker against the consent of his party, the All Progressives Congress( APC),had on Saturday conducted a mock to make Gbajabiamila the official candidate.
Mr YAKUBU and his group said they preferred to be beaten at the floor of the house. Mr Do garage got a chance to contest when POP made him their candidate.
